🥫Hello, Tincasters!

It’s been a while, and it’s been a tough year. We’ve heard your voices and concerns, and we’re eternally grateful for your continued support. Here’s an update, open to everyone.

For those who may not know our story or what we stand for, we’re here to connect people through voice, story, and interaction.

Last year was a challenging journey. We believe we’re close enough to the community, to be honest about almost giving up. We were on the verge of shutting down Tin Can last year, but at the very last minute, we stumbled upon an amazing opportunity to keep the community going. We have been taking steps towards making this a reality. You might think “third time’s the charm,” but what we want you to know is that we cannot afford to make the same mistakes we’ve already made.

To achieve this, we needed to rebuild our team to focus on this goal. Earlier this May, we finally assembled a like-minded group that remains committed to Tin Can’s original purpose. As a creator’s platform, we need your patience and continued support, dear Tincasters. We believe there’s a creator in all of us, and we need you to tap into that for this to happen.

Our desire to connect communities openly and unconditionally while maintaining a business was challenging. In response, we tried new things, some of which showed more promise than others. We listened to your feedback, analyzed the numbers, and are improving our plans to better support your creativity while keeping the platform sustainable as a business.

We are currently simplifying Tin Can to highlight what you do best. This might sound like a “Tin Can: Back to Basics,” but this time we will showcase your story and creativity as creators while fostering a clean and safe community.

As a platform focused on creators, we will keep the Live and Direct Messaging features. The Feed will continue to serve as a place for community interaction. However, after careful consideration, we have decided to remove the Matching Feature and prioritize improving other aspects of the platform instead.

We will continue our efforts to make Tin Can run as smoothly, exciting, and fresh as possible. In three words: “We Are Back!” We aim to stay on top of our game, just as you aim to stay on top of yours.

As we move forward, we will provide more updates and announcements, including new guidelines and improvements. For now, please consider this our early greeting as we continue our journey.

Looking forward to connecting and working with the community!

All the best,

Team Tin Can 🧶
